I've been doing painting, paint prep and custom carpentry projects in and around New York City for 25 years. I think Malcolm Gladwell would agree that I've put in my 10,000 hours. It's work I enjoy and work that I'm proud to look at when it's finished. I usually work alone and I do carpentry projects on-site, this second detail may be a deal-breaker for some but I am obsessed when it comes to cleaning up after a day's work. My biggest question for people who wish to have a carpentry project made for them is, "What is it going to be used for?" And then my next question would be, "Are you sure?"
